Real Events - Miki & Zach

It's time for another KD wedding! If you're new to the blog, you must know that I am a proud member of Kappa Delta Sorority's Eta Rho chapter and I jumped at the opportunity to feature one of my lovely sister's big day :) This summer, sister Miki married her college sweetheart, Zach, on July 7th in Cincinnati, Oh. A bunch of us KD Ladies joined her to celebrate her big day and it was definitely a night to remember!

Zach and Miki had a beautiful Catholic ceremony, followed by a reception at The Farm party center. Their red, white and blue color scheme was paired perfectly with some personal touches that reflected their love of baseball. Robert, of White Photography, captured some very nice pictures of the couple and their guests. You can see more of these amazing photos HERE!!!

The Bride, of course, looked beautiful and elegant in her dress. She did her own makeup with airbrush done by Salon Rhonda. Her hair was done by her cousin/bridesmaid who works at Salon Envie in Cincinnati, Oh.

Kappa Delta's colors are olive green and pearl white. So, as a nice tribute to her sorority, she asked that her sisters wear green on her big day. It was such a great way for her to recognize our group :) Here we are, "throwing what we know"!

Miki's bouquet and other floral arrangements were created by Mary's Country House of Flowers. The wedding videos were filmed by Lifetime Films, who were just rated as a 2012 Knots best for Cincinnati!

A few members of the wedding party surprised the Bride and Groom with a fun little dance number! Naturally, with the Bride's name being Miki, their routine included waving pom poms to Toni Basil's "Hey Mickey" :)

Congrats Zach and Miki! Wishing you a lifetime of laughter and happiness!

Did you get married on 12/12/12?

If so, you joined an estimated 7,500 brides—a huge increase over last year when just 485 pairs married on 12/12/11, according to a David's Bridal survey!

From Las Vegas to Hong Kong to Australia, couples lined up to exchange vows Wednesday, betting that it is auspicious to be married on Dec. 12, 2012, the last "triple date" of the century.

The date is quite popular (and guys will have a tough time saying they forgot their anniversary!) and according to Western numerology, numbers are associated with certain personality traits: The masculine one is self-sufficient and driven, while the feminine two is a true partner.

Together they form a balanced and unstoppable pair. One also represents new beginnings and two represents union, making today's triple-digit date a propitious day for tying the knot.

If you want to marry on a memorable date like 12/12/12, which features the same number three times or 11/12/13, in which the date lines up in numerical order –your last opportunity of the century will be next year on 11/12/13.

The Papery Nook

While we like to concentrate on featuring local vendors, we will occasionally feature those that we’ve done business with and appreciate their products & service.

One such vendor is The Papery Nook, an Etsy shop owned by Sarah Sewell. Sarah opened The Papery Nook because she felt there was a wonderful need out there for organic earthy natural products for weddings and other special occasions.

Sarah believes that, “There is something magical about using elements of the earth to create a beautiful ambiance for your special event. I strive to bring my clients quality handcrafted products while personalizing them and keeping the cost affordable.”

The Papery Nook provides absolutely gorgeous items for weddings and other events: luminaries for table numbers, place cards, ring bearer pillows, wishing tree and guest books, bridal party gifts, favors, santa letters, oathing stones…we could go on and on. Sarah was great to work with, the items we ordered were of great quality and were shipped when promised.

However, our favorite are her luminary table numbers. Printed on top of the line paper in an infinite number of styles, you can personalize them with names and dates, and have them shipped in a jiffy. They are easy to put together with a provided adhesive strip and you place your votive inside and voilĂ , you have a romantic and creative table number!

You can find The Papery Nook at www.thepaperynook.com , Etsy, Facebook & Twitter.
